Algeria

When people ask me where i'm from, I answer - 'I'm half Spanish, half Algerian' - It usually creates a discussion on Algeria. This is because a lot of people don't know where it actually is in the world and really, a lot of people have no idea what Algeria is all about! So here's a little insight to the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria. Enjoy :-)

Where is Algeria? 

Algeria's situated in North Africa. The country is bordered in the northeast by Tunisia, in the east by Libya and in the west by morocco with an estimated population of 37,100,000 (2012) 

Algeria is the 10th largest country in the world and the largest in Africa! 

                                                                                                                                                                     

The French invaded Algeria in 1830 and Algeria claimed independence after a hard battle to win their land back on the 5th July 1962

(Algerian Independence). This is why French is the second language spoken in Algeria after Algerian Arabic which also contains French words.
